MindMeet is shifting philanthropic pursuits away from the very wealthy by opening the opportunity to everyone and allowing users to share their expertise and raise money for their favorite charities. The platform connects those who are seeking knowledge, expertise or inspiration with those who have years of experience in their respective fields. All proceeds from the information they share with others go to the charity of their choice.
After paying a fee, users have a 15-minute, 30-minute, or one-hour, in-person or virtual meeting with the expert. The expert then donates their fee to a favorite charity. Experts will be able to make a difference through sharing their knowledge of a particular subject and donating money to a cause they believe in. The site is changing the way knowledge is spread and how people gain access to expertise.
MindMeet was founded by tech entrepreneur Chinedu Echeruo and architect Pamela Abalu. Echeruo is the founder of Hopstop.com, an app and website that gives users mass transit, walking, biking, etc. directions on how to get to their destinations. He eventually sold the company to Apple and made the Forbes list of the 10 Most Powerful Men in Africa 2014. Abalu is an accomplished architect who modernized Metlife’s global office holdings. In 2015, she oversaw the renovation of 140 offices in 20 countries. Abalu made Crain’s 40 Under 40 list in 2016.
MindMeet opens up new opportunities for those who want to share their expertise while benefiting causes of their choice. Not only will they be able to spread useful knowledge to those who need it, but the money also will go to those in need. MindMeet changes the way information is spread, helping charities and people along the way.
